DESIGN TREND 2020 | COLOUR IS BACK!

Design Trend - 2020 Colour is back

There’s no escaping trends. Whether you live by them or feel totally unaffected, from popular paint shades to furniture choices, everything designed for our homes is influenced by a wider trend.

The last few years in design have focused largely been muted shades of grey and texture. Colour was added though decorative items such as deco pillows, throws or artwork. The tide has turned. Having attended Atlanta and Maison and Objet in Paris, as well a trip to Italy, not only was colour showing up but also in vibrant prints.

A breath of fresh air, a treat for the eyes.

For linen this means “empowering, yet not overpowering” hues. The presence of colors evoke creativity and confidence to create playful and unexpected palettes.

From vibrant shades of blue, orange and yellow to more mellow hues of green and pink we are excited to see all the variations and colour combinations these will into the bedroom.

From a designer’s perspective, the bed is a perfect space to reflect the essence of their client.

Whether it is serene soft tones or a fresh hue, colours are an ideal choice to awaken interiors for 2020. The options are to team with on-trend saturated tones such as green and deep petrol blue or to pair classic neutral oatmeal tones, dusky pinks and lilacs – all key colours throughout this year’s interiors trends.
